  FREE EYE SCREENING CAMPS DONE BY CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE  
 

Diabetic patients are prone to develop eye complications & diabetes is the second highest cause of blindness above 20 years. Hence CDC & RC started the retinopathy screening camps in the villages to detect the eye problems & prevent blindness in the diabetic patients in the villages around chengalpattu. CDC & RC conducted many free eye camps in the villages along with Sankara Nethralaya Hospital to detect diabetic retinopathy. Free eye screening camps are done along with free blood testing camps in the villages. The CDC & RC team conductes these eye screening camps with the help of NGO’s & village panchayat heads. The diabetic patients detected to have cataract and other eye problems are referred to near by government hospitals for further treatment
