CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE Free Diabetic Camps in Villages (2001-2003)
Diabetes is prevelant not only in urban areas but also in rural areas. The rural folk do not volunteer themselves for the diagnosis for diabetes. Having this in mind, the CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE conducts free Diabetic screening camps in various rural areas. These camps are arranged for the rural, residing in and around chengalpattu town. Free Blood check up and Exhibition mark the camps.

Date:05.01.2002 Venue : Kancheepuram
This camp was co sponsored by the CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE and the Lions club of Hellen Keller, Pallavan city and Temple city at Kancheepuram..
The District Sub- Collector presided and declared open the camp. Free Blood checkup started by 8.00 Am and was continued the whole day till 4.00 P.m. More than 600 beneficiaries got blood testing done, and free distribution of tablets was also done.
The Exhibition on Diabetes was declared open by the Municipal Chairman Ln.K. Arumugam. The vegetables and fruits to be used and not to be used by the diabetes were exhibited. 22 technicians of the Diabetic Care Centre explained about the various aspects of diabetes in the local language to be understood by the public. The Diet schedules for the diabetic patients were prepared and exhibited.
Dr. K.P. Pichumani spoke on basic aspects of the diabetes and the easy metho of diagnosing the disease. Handy tips on diet schedule given by the doctor was very useful to the participants of the camp.
Members of Lions club PDG Ln. Thiru. Shanmugam PDG Ln. Thiru. M.B. Venkataperumal, Ln. Dr. U.M. Sankaran, Ln. V.S. Ramakarishnan, Ln. V. Damodaran and Ln. S. Sridhar appreciated the activities and the services of the Diabetic Care Centre.
This camp was presided by the P.V. kalathur Panchayat president. Tmt. Lalitha Selvi, Thiru.D. Varadharajan MA, Tmt. Sankaran BA were also present. 190 patients attended the camp and free blood check up was done to them Dr. K.P. Pichumani spoke on aspect of diabetes control.
Date:19.03.2002 Venue: Thiruveni Academy , Vadakkupattu
This camp was specially arranged for the Trainees of Tamilnadu Police Department . 170 members were given Free Blood check up. DSP Thiru. Anthonisamy and Asst. Police Commissioner Chennai Thiru. Madhuram B.Sc., were present. Dr. K.P. Pichumani gave advice on diabetes.
This camp was sponsored by the Rotary Club, Mamndur. Dr.K.P. Pichumani presided the camp. This camp was arranged in the premises of Project House, GST Road, Mamndur. More than 200 people attended the camp. Dr. K.P. Pichumani gave advice on diabetes.
Date:20.04.2002 Venue: Thirukalukundram
This camp was sponsored by the Eagle Town Rotary Club, Thirukkalukundram and the CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE. Thiru. T. Jagadeesan, manager, Canara bank was the chief guest. Exhibition on Diet Schedule, Eye Care and Foot care for diabetic patients marked this day. 300 Participants were given Free Blood check up. The doctor advised the gathering and free distribution of tablets was done. The Diet schedule from morning to the night, the vegetables to be taken or taken or those not to taken by the diabetics were exhibited in the show. The Dieticians and the Diabetic Nurses explained the gathering about diabetes. This was very much appreciated by all of them.

Dr. K.P. Pichumani presided this camp. Free Blood check up was done to persons who were more than 30 years of age. Special Exhibition on diabetes was arranged. Thiru. Jayasankar Founder Chemech Laboratories, Chennai was the chief guest of this day. He visited the exhibition and praised the services rendered by Dr. K.P. Pichumani and Dr. Anuradha Pichumani. Dr. K.P. Pichumani & Dr. Anuradha Pichumani participating in the Diabetic camp arranged by the rotary club, Thirukalu Kundram. The team from Chengalpattu Diabetic care center & Research center headed by Dr. K.P. Pichumani, participated in a free Diabetic camp organized by the Forest Department, Chengalpattu. Dr. K.P. Pichumani seen talking to the public on the “Need for the awareness of Diabetes” in a camp organized by Rotary club pudupattinam.

Rotary Club, Co-ordinator, Chengalpattu, Thiru. Stanley arranged this camp. Diabetes was diagnosed under the chairmanship of Dr. K.P. Pichumani. Rtn. K.T. Gunasekaran and the president, Traders Association Chengalpttu were present. 150 persons were tested freely for diabetes. Dr. K.P. Pichumani advised the persons with high blood sugar, to follow the diet schedule and treatment prescribed by the doctors. Special exhibition of diabetic diet was also arranged.

Special Medical Camp was arranged by Dr. K.P. Pichumani and the Rotary Club. Maraimalai nagar, Rtn. P. Easwaran Deputy Governor, Rotary club Maraimalai Nagar, declared open the camp and appreciated the services rendered by Dr. K.P. Pichumani. Nearly 200 persons attended this camp. Special exhibition on the diets suitable for diabetics marked this day. Dr. K.P. Pichumani gave Medical advise to those who had high blood sugar and distributed free tablets to them. The dieticians gave advice on Diet and exercises which should followed by the diabetic. Ms. Thulasibai of Rotary Club along with other officials in charge of Inter Club and Rotary Club had jointly arranged this camp. It ended in a grand success.

This Camp was Sponsored by the Tamilnadu General Library Authority and library Authority Kancheepuram District. A lot of public attended this camp with their families. Special exhibition marked this day. Dr. K.P. Pichumani was the doctor and created awareness about diabetes. This camp was very useful for the patients.

This camp started by 9.00 A.m and a free blood check up was done to the patients. The Exhibition arranged by the members was helpful for giving details explanation for the diabetes. This exhibition was co-sponsored by Jankalyan of Sankara Mutt and the lions club of kancheepuram, Dr. K.P. Pichumani took part in this camp and explained various aspects of preventing diabetes in memers of Sankara Mutt. Dr. S. masthan, Asst. Director public Health Kancheepuram visited the exhibition. Over 250 patients attended this camp.

The Consumers Association, Kanchepuram sponsored this camp to celebrate the world consumers Day. Free blood check up and Exhibition marked this day. Dr. K.P. Pichumani spoke on Diabetes treatment, diet, and exercises to be followed by the patients. The entrance of the Free Diabetic exhibition camp organized by CDC & RC at a school in Kancheepuram. The public visiting the Diabetic exhibition arranged by Chengalpattu diabetic care center in a village camp. A part of public participating in the Free Diabetic camp conducted by Chengalpattu Diabetic care & Research center.

This camp was sponsored by the Druggist Association, Chengalpattu. Free Blood check up and Exhibition marked this day. Dr. K.P. Pichumani spoke on diabetic treatment. Nearly 90 patients attended. The Diet and types of exercise for the diabetic patients were discussed.

This Camp was Co-sponsored by the CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE and the Lions Club of Kalpakkam. Eye care and Foot care were the two main topics discussed on that day. The nurses from CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE gave a detailed notes on the above topic. This was widely appreciated and applauded by the public. Exhibition on the variety of vegetables and fruits to be used and not to be used by the diabetes was arranged. Over 300 patients attended and Free Blood check up & Free Blood – pressure check up were done to them. Dr. K.P. Pichumani gave advise on Diabetic treatment.
Dr. K.P. Pichumani, the Founder of CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE arranged this special camp on diabetes. Patients with high blood sugar met the doctor, and the dietician, and took the advice on Diabetic treatment. An Exhibition on Diet was also arranged. This was very useful to the patients. Nearly 150 patients attended the camp. Free Blood check up and Blood pressure check up were done to them.
This cmp started by 9.00 A.m with Free Blood check up. Exhibition on diabetes and Diet Schedule was arranged. Dr. K.P. Pichumani's talk on the treatment of Diabetes created awareness among the patients. Over 250 people attended this camp.

This camp was co-sponsored by CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE and Lions Club Walajabad, free blood check up and special Exhibition on diabetes marked this day. Dr. K.P. Pichumani chaired the camp. Nearly 200 people attended this camp. A number of people were diagnosed for first time and found to be diabetic. Dr. K.P. Pichumani created an awareness on Diabetes and gave advice on diabetic treatment.

This camp was co-sponsored by CHENGALPATTU DIABETIC CARE AND RESEARCH CENTRE and the Panchayat of Chembakkam Union Villge. Dr. K.P. Pichumani presided over this camp. About 250 persons, over 30 years of age attended this camp. Patients with high blood sugar met the doctor and the dietician and took the advice on the Diabetic treatment. Honourable Minister for Handloom & Textile, Mr. V. Somasundaram, seen addressing the public after inaugurating the free diabetic exhibition and free blood testing which was arranged by Chengalpattu Diabetic Care and Research Centre. (CDC & RC) Dr. K.P.l Pichumani giving talk on “ Management of Diabetes” in a Free diabetic camp. The Staff of Chengalpattu Diabetic care and Research center explain about the foot problems in Diabetes to the patients visiting the exhibition. >BACK
Date: 17.08.2003 Venue: Uthiramerur
The Monthly magazine “ Inippum Nivaranamum” of Chengalpattu Diabetic care & Research center, being presented to the Honourable Minister by Dr. K.P. Pichumani Dr. K.P. Pichumani seen giving free medical advice to the patients in the Diabetic camp at Uthiramerur. This camp was organized jointly by Chengalpattu Diabetic care center and the Town Panchyat of Uthiramerur. Honourable Minister for Handloom Mr. V. Somasundaram presided over this camp and inaugurated the Diabetic exhibition also. He spent nearly Half an hour visiting all the education stalls in the exhibition. About 20 diabetic nurses, technicians and dieticians and counselors participated from the diabetic center and gave explanation about the various aspects of diabetes in detail. The Minister was highly impressed by the exhibition and he praised the diabetic team on their efforts on conducting free camps in the villages. Dr. K.P. Pichumani gave a talk on the management of Diabetes. More than 200 people attended this camp and free blood testing was done for all of them.
